After doing some work on the design tonight, I decided it was ready to go. As you can see it’s a pretty big change from the old look.
I hope this new layout and design helps to highlight the content and isn’t as distracting as the old design was. There were different colors everywhere, which really took your eye away from what was important. The design and layout is a modified version of a great WordPress theme, named SandPress.

Now that the design is live on the site, I can start working on creating new card tricks.

I just rolled out another new feature. This one makes it easier to view the step by step pictures used for some of the tricks.
When you click on a thumbnail picture it will open a larger version of the picture “over the top” of the page you are viewing. Now you don’t have to click back and forth between browser windows or use the back button on your browser to go from the tutorial to the pictures. Once a picture is visible, if you hover over the sides of the picture with your mouse, you will see Previous and Next options to navigate from picture to picture.

I hope this new addition to the site will make it easier to learn the tricks. If a video moves too fast to follow the steps, simply click through the pictures at your own pace.
Initially there was a problem preventing the pages from loading in Internet Explorer. Should be fixed now.
I also found out you can simply use the left and right arrow keys to move from image to image.

It has been over a year since the last post was written here at Card Tricks. Far too long!
Yesterday I updated the video player used on the site. It’s more of YouTube style video player and looks much better than the old player. You can see the new video player by visiting any of the tricks with videos.
The entire site will be getting whole new layout before 2008 arrives. I’ve been working on it for the last few days and it looks much better than the current design.
I also have some ideas for new card tricks to put on the site and will be working on them over the holidays.
I’m preparing to add some new card tricks to the site with tutorials and photos/graphics. I was curious which would be more popular…card tricks similar to those already posted on the site or magic type card tricks?

Do you have a trick you can do with cards? It could be a magic trick or just a neat way to shuffle a deck of cards. I’m looking for new tricks to add to the site and am willing to post your tricks if you can provide a video and tutorial for the trick.
